Hey there Dreamers!! It’s been a little longer than I usually like to go without posting, but I’m back. Truth be told, I hadn’t had anything great to post. I mean I have some cute pictures but nothing to really say that I felt was useful. I doubt myself, it happens. So fall is literally upon us, though the stores have been trying to convince us of this for at least a month right?? And when fall is here, I love a good slow cooker recipe. Something filling and comfort – like, and what is more comforting then a chili without beans?? So I thought I would post a chili recipe I found a few years back on Pinterest!
No Bean Turkey Chili Sweet Potato Chili Recipe
Now, I want to be clear. This recipe is in no way my own. I may have made a few tweaks or probably forgotten a few ingredients along the way lol. But I didn’t come up with it. I do want to pass it on because I haven’t seen it pop up and I can’t find it for the life of me on my own Pinterest. I’m probably doing something wrong lol.

Plenty of people love their bean-filled chili, but my family are not those people. I wanted something relatively cheap that would feed a ton of people. At that time I was feeding about 9 on this meal. Now I feed 5 with at least 2 days of lunch leftovers. I use one sweet potato instead of two. It makes a difference somehow. I love to top my chili with plenty of cheddar cheese and throw in some bread or rolls. I’ve tried the Grands Biscuits molded over the upside down muffin pan to make little bread cups, so good. Currently, I’ve been baking corn muffin mix in an 8″ square pan, and they are usually ready with enough time to be cool enough to cut when the chili is done. I love bread so I am not picky at all, french, italian, corn, yum!

- Pour can of Rotel, diced tomatoes and tomato sauce over turkey and sweet potato.

- Top with shredded cheddar and some corn bread and enjoy!
Slow cooker Instructions:
To convert this recipe to a slow cooker recipe it super easy! After browning the turkey and chopping up the sweet potato, I like to layer the sweet potato at the bottom of the slow cooker, then turkey, Rotel, etc. Don’t stir. Cover and cook on high for 4 hrs or on low for 8 hrs. Stir when done cooking, having the sweet potatoes on the bottom helps them to cook to tender. I have made the mistake of not layering and ended up with crunchy sweet potatoes. It did not make the recipe lol!
So, what do you think Dreamers?? Do you prefer your beans? What are your favorite Fall comfort food recipes?? Let me know in the comments, I’d love to give something new a try!!
