Well, we are a smidge over a week away from Thanksgiving and six weeks away from Christmas. Feel that pressure?? Haha I do! I put together a cute little holiday style guide with some pieces from Gap that I just adore. It really helps to take my mind off things. Gap is my go-to when it comes to shopping for the kids. Old Navy takes second place, especially when it comes to essentials. What makes this even more pleasing, is right now, if you use code HAPPY you will receive 40% off any order until 12/2/17. Plus, until 12/4/17 you can redeem GapCash you earned when I first wrote this post!! I can guarantee you this is an offer I will definitely be taking advantage of! I usually use Gapcash on clearance items because you can’t pair it with any coupon codes. Or I use it on a big-ticket item like a nice coat. With that being said I guess I should get this post up huh??
I really like plaid when it comes to Thanksgiving and Christmas, so I really hope you all do too. Each outfit I chose features plaid because I also really wasn’t that crazy about the other looks. I like to mix colors and not rely heavily on one solid color. I also really love these booties for both girls sizes! Take a look at what I have here!
Girls Outfit #1
This plaid twill long sleeve shirtdress is my favorite by far. My 12-year-old is on the thin side, so most dresses just hang on her. The tie on the waist is incredibly important to making the dress look just right. I personally would pair it with some black tights or leggings. I think the metallic Chelsea boots are adorable and can also be worn with more casual outfits, unlike patent leather shoes. They are also pretty trendy, so you don’t have to feel too guilty about the price tag. What girl doesn’t love a cute pair of boots?? I also wanted to pair all the outfits with coats, so you can keep those kids looking good to church or parties! A classic navy wool peacoat is a great addition and also very versatile.
Girls Outfit #2
This second outfit I’ve put together, I had my youngest in mind. Though she’s 4, she’s vertically grown out of toddler clothes. Yay hah. I really feel like she would approve of the whole ensemble, short of the sweater. She runs on the warmer side naturally, but I like to keep a sweater around that she rarely needs. Peace of mind I guess. She would especially love being “twinsies” with her big sister with those boots. The toddler version of the boots feature scalloped edges which I really love.
The plaid fit & flair dress is super cute and its 100% cotton. It also has pockets which is a total bonus!! I like that it was an ivory background instead of red similar to the other kids outfits. She’s a little bit of a diva so she has to stand out! I personally think the shimmer open shawl cardigan is gorgeous, and who doesn’t love a cozy sweater?? It’s available in true black and light heather grey in case you want it in a lighter color. As I said before, I just love these metallic scallop Chelsea boots. The scalloped edges make them a little cutesy-er then the girls larger-sized boots. To top off the whole outfit I added the double-face wool peacoat. You can tell I obviously love peacoats.
Boys Holiday Outfit
I don’t know about your boys, but my boy needs a nice outfit. A lot of people go one of two ways. They either overdress the boy or they under-dress him. Lucas has to have the right balance. I picked these boys high stretch slim jeans because they have give to them but so he can still move comfortably. I only ever dress him in slim cut jeans because I just don’t like the baggy jean look. These jeans also feature an adjustable waist, which in my eyes is a must. I picked the buffalo plaid flannel long sleeve shirt with Lucas in mind since he isn’t opposed to wearing a button down shirt weekly. I paired the buffalo plaid shirt with the cable-knit mockneck sweater in oatmeal heather to tone down the red a little. The sweater is also available in pure red and true indigo, which I like as well and would probably purchase just because Lucas likes to wear sweaters. Add the finishing touches to this outfit with the Melton wool peacoat, because who doesn’t love a boy in a peacoat??
All right Dreamers, what do you think?? Did I hit the nail on the head with my picks?? Remember the free shipping with no minimum expires today, but you still have another day to get 40% off and over a week to earn that Gapcash!! Leave me a comment and let me know what kind of styles you prefer for the holidays, I’d love to hear from you!!
