Hello Dreamies and hello 2018! Can I still say that even though January is almost over?? Haha. It’s been, what, two months since I’ve gotten a post up?? Ugh. That’s defeating. I tried, honestly I did. But it just wasn’t in the cards. Whether it be sickness, holidays, stress, kids, whatever, something always got in the way! The last two weeks alone every time I had a Eureka! moment, I’d try logging in to find my blog was down. Not fun.
I’m here now though, just to get something up and active. I don’t really have a lot to show right now. I recently switched from a Toshiba to a MacBook Air and I haven’t gotten to the work of transferring the files for my blog. Can I just tell you how excitedly happy I am to say that though? I have legitimately wanted a MacBook since seeing Legally Blonde, where Elle Woods is buying her MacBook to get serious about Harvard ha. I begged my parents, but no. Understandably though. But then my beloved husband found a way how many years later! I’m over the moon!

Whole what now?
What else is new? Oh! I started my first Whole30! I’m so super excited about this. Did you know though, that as many people already know or have heard of Whole30 that there are just as many who haven’t?? It’s mind-boggling! I mean once I opened the door to finding out more and getting the book, etc. all I could notice was how Whole30 was everywhere! But now I tell people “oh yea I just started my first Whole30” I get a lot of….what now?? ha. I’ve been sitting stagnant for a long time, tired from this mom-life of mine and making excuses along with bad eating habits. If anyone else is doing the same, check out my Pinterest and take a look at my Whole30 board under the same name. None of the recipes so far are my own, but I’m putting them all in one place so they are easier to find.
I’m pretty annoyed with myself because last night I made this delicious dinner all on my own, and wrote none of it down! Not a single picture or ingredient, gah!! I’ll just have to make it again I suppose…sigh. I took some inspiration from a recipe, a gist of ingredients, and then I added and changed a few things. That’s how a recipe is made right?? haha. My brain doesn’t figure out simple things easily. Like, I can’t wrap my mind around something that seems so simple because there has to be more to this then what I’m seeing. And I love to cook so putting recipes up on the blog is something that speaks to me, but my brain is like “you’re not a chef! You got this idea from somewhere, you can’t steal it from whoever made it first!” Even if I’ve never seen it anywhere before. It’s a nightmare sometimes, in the old brain of mine.
2018 feels like a year full of promise
I’m really staying optimistic with this year. I’ve set goals instead of resolutions, a few examples being better health, preparing my youngest for kindergarten, and setting down a blog schedule. Maybe look into taking some classes since I’ve been home for the last decade preparing children to leave me and go off to school haha. I say this as my youngest moons me while running to the bathroom. Livin’ the dream here haha!
Anyways. What does 2018 feel like for you? Do you set goals or resolutions and how hard do you work on attaining them? I found resolutions just wasn’t cutting it for me. We would write them down and I’d lose them and we’d forget about them. Goals feels less daunting, but still challenging. I hope to take you along on this journey.
So tell me, have you done a Whole30 yet? Have you never heard of it? What are your goals and resolutions for this new year? Leave me a comment, I’d love to hear from you!!
