Happy Holidays Dreamies!! As some of you may know, I’m the proud mother of a teenage girl (dun dun duuuun!). I’ve never been a parent to a teenager before, and though I may remember a lot from my pubescent years – that doesn’t help in every situation. One of those situations is the Christmas list. After asking my dear daughter, and getting no real response, I took it upon myself to get to work brainstorming. This holiday gift guide is dedicated to all the moms out there who have no idea what to do for their daughters for Christmas. Enjoy!

When I was younger, Christmas was a time to ask for things you wouldn’t normally receive throughout the year. Seeing as this age group is moving more towards figuring out who they are in life, as opposed to how to keep them occupied, I wanted to focus more on that aspect. It’s easy to just buy them clothes, or an Iphone, or hand them a gift card. But in order to really help them find their place and their style, you have to dig a little deeper. Get a little more creative. Hopefully this guide will point you in the right direction, ending with one very happy teen come Christmas morning!
Top 10 Gift Ideas for Teenage girls
Every girl needs her own space to sit and play. Whether it be with makeup or hair, its her own special area that she can glam it up! Bonus, that means less mess on the counters, one less person hogging the bathroom and less hair in the sink! I like this one because no matter the room size, it doesn’t take up a ton of space. It also comes with an upholstered stool! There are six colors to choose from, but I felt the white was probably the most appropriate. Also, as of this posting the vanity is on sale at 22% off the original price and has a 4.5 star rating!
Who didn’t love their Caboodles?? Man I wish I had saved mine! This one in particular is an Urban Outfitters exclusive and comes in three colors: lavender/mint, mint/orange and blush/darker pink. This is a great way for your girl to store makeup and beauty supplies, writing and art supplies or anything else she can fit in there! I think this is actually going to go on my list, because the nostalgia is real!
Perfect for the music lover in your life and for your headaches! This babies are bluetooth enabled with up to 8 hours of wireless play. They also come with removable secure fit wingtips to ensure they stay in place. I know these are a bit pricey, but I’d rather get my girl these than have her steal my ear buds again! Plus they can keep their device in a more secure location instead of dangling at the end of a wire. You can manage calls and your playlist right from the headphones themselves!
I’ll never forget the first time I saw Carrie Bradshaw’s name plate necklace. I knew I had to have one! Such a simple understated piece of jewelry that can be worn with anything and still make you feel pretty. This gift is at the top of my daughters list. She originally had a name plate bracelet, but it took too much of a beating and broke. If she gets nothing else, this is the one item she has been bugging me for. I can understand why! The necklace linked comes with a 20″ cable link chain and a lobster clasp. You can personalize up to 10 letters.
Maybe it’s time for a little bedroom refresh? I used to love getting gifts for my bedroom! I had movie posters on my walls, those inflatable chairs and beads hanging in my doorway. And don’t even get my started on my love for lava lamps! I love the gold color for the sling, it adds a touch of chic when you can’t do a complete overhaul to the room. It’s a nice place to sit and relax while doing your homework, or listening to music on your Beats by Dre headphones! Plus, if you act fast, both items are currently on sale and delivering in time for Christmas!
You guys, I think I might also have to snatch this one up for myself. It’s measured at 50″ x 60″ and it comes in four colors: Vintage Ebony, Ashy Rose, Light Gray, and Ivory. It’s super lush AND machine washable, my favorite combinations in a throw blanket! I adored flipping through the pages of Pottery Barn Teen as a teen, and I’m happy to say I still find all their items to die for! Even if it’s not for my use and pleasure haha! Side note: as of this posting, the Vintage ebony and Ivory blankets are on sale! Snatch one of those babies up before they’re all gone!
Not only is this a great place for your daughter to hang all her notes and pictures, it also makes for beautiful bedroom decor! I know I love having a place to post things that stand out, from reminders to pretty things. This is a great way to pass that on to your daughter! The X and O magnets are gold against a matte black board for a look that really adds style to their space.
I had the surprise of my life while trying to find shoes for my newly teenage daughter: her feet were big enough for women’s shoes! WHAT?? This kid has always been on the tiny side and now, well I guess it was a matter of time. So, that inspired me to add these babies to the list. I bought a pair of slippers from L.L. Bean for my sister last year and I remember thinking how ugly I thought they were. But since then, they’re grown on me and I can’t help but think how terribly comfortable they look! These moccasin slippers have a nice tread on the bottom, so your daughter can continue that comfort and warmth outside the house if she so chooses. Just be sure to water proof them first! The website boasts that 4 million pairs have sold in the last 5 years and as of this posting, if you spend $50, you get a $10 gift card for future orders. Like when you decide to get yourself a pair as well!
Sorel boots are amazing, and an investment to boot (no pun intended). My feet stay amazingly warm and comfy, and I don’t have to worry that I’m going to ruin them in the snow or rain. I would size up a full size. They’ll last a bit longer, and pairing them with some plush socks fixes any extra room if your teens feet are still growing. In these boots, your teen can own winter whether it be walking to the bus stop on cold mornings or shoveling the snow after its fallen!
My last and final teen gift recommendation is probably the most important of all, a skin care regimen. Please, teach your daughters early about the importance of properly caring for their skin. It not only builds their self-confidence for the present, but also for the future. How many of us have so many regrets when it comes to our faces and what we’ve done to them? The laziness, or lack of knowledge. The hours in the mirror popping pimples! Scars are forever, Dreamies and that’s one thing I don’t wish for my daughter. I linked this Clinique line, because it’s the first line my mother introduced me to as a teen. They’ve been around forever and I haven’t heard anything inherently controversial about them. This kit is a 4-week supply and includes a cleansing foam, clarifying lotion and an oil-free moisturizer. I know some people will think it’s crazy or too expensive to give something like this to a teen. But our children and how they see themselves, is so important. It’s a worthy investment. Grocery store products can be riddled with harmful chemicals, and the delicate skin on our children’s faces deserve better.
