Happy Holidays, Dreamers!! Is everyone finished with their holiday shopping, or like me are you floundering as the last few weeks are flying by? Luckily, the one thing I was prepared for was holiday outfits and I’ve put together a round-up of my favorites! Last year I did my first Kids Holiday/Christmas style round-up, as well as an Easter/Spring dress round-up so I figured why not do it again?
Personally, I struggle scrolling through the lists online or shopping in-store with so many choices in your face. I think I spent an hour at the minimum going through everything in my local Gap. Hunting for just the right outfit for each child while not spending a million bucks on things I’m not looking for is a real hurdle I’m working to get past! A passion of mine is shopping for kids clothes, and I love helping my fellow Daydreamers find cute outfits for their kids! So without further ado, let’s get down to it!
Holiday Outfits – Girls
I purchased this dress for my oldest daughter, Kylie. I know she’s reading this and that means I’ve ruined the surprise hah. Kylie, please don’t tell your brother and sister!! I was planning on giving the kids their holiday outfits as gifts, to change into before the rest of the family comes over. I couldn’t leave it out of the style round-up, when I post pictures later I don’t want people to think I’m choosing outfits I wouldn’t dress my own kids in.
This dress is better suited for older girls but not as much for the little ones, in my opinion. It doesn’t swallow up their legs, and it just sits better. You can easily pair this dress with leggings and flats, booties for school or dressed up for the holidays. You can get a lot more wear out of it by going with blue, it doesn’t look like a dress that’s just meant for Christmas. And if you do anything fancy with your kids for New Years like we do, the added sparkle makes it pop!
You guys, I LOVE this dress. I bought the kid’s holiday outfits with my Gapcash a few weeks ago and they didn’t have this one in store. Since I was already there I figured I should just do what I have to do with what was in front of me, but I was sad! Usually, I get way better deals in store during Gapcash time than online but that wasn’t the case this time. This was also a different store than I usually go to, and the selection was lacking. Maybe I’ll scoop it up for New Years at the last minute if there’s any good after Christmas sales. This definitely feels like a New Years Eve party dress to me!
Ok, let me start by saying this dress is in fact sold out. However, I’m including a few options below if you love plaid. This dress was still in stock yesterday, and I’m kind of bummed it’s gone! I love belted dresses, it gives a dress shape without always going back to elastic cinched waists. Most of the time instead of wrapping the belt around the dress and tying it, if it has belt loops, I like to tie it in the back. It gives the dress a waist without worrying about if the tied belt looks sloppy. Now I just need to work on tying a pretty bow!
I love the amount of sparkle on this dress, and the fact that they aren’t those flippy sequins! Man those things drive me nuts. This particular shade of blue is also really pretty, and this is another perfect dress if you don’t want an over the top Christmas look. This would be a top pick for New Years Ever parties or any other events going on as well. The perfect dress for that glam girl in your life!
Holiday Outfits – Boys
This Cardigan is actually one of my son’s favorite things to wear. My girl friend had bought him one two years ago that was striped, and at first he wasn’t into it at all. But one day he didn’t have any sweatshirts that were clean and he finally gave it a shot. Since then, he loves these cardigans and I love how cute he looks, like a little professor. If you pair it with a button down shirt, that boy is sure to get all the praise Christmas Day!
This is another of my son’s favorites to wear, I’ve been dressing him in shawl collared shirts since he was 1! It’s hard to find outfits that go beyond button-down shirts and polos for boys, but shawl collared button downs and sweaters are a great addition or alternative for holidays.
7. Black Buffalo
8. Red Plaid
I combined these two because it’s the same shirt, just different colors and the link is the same. I didn’t want it to be confusing for anyone incase the wrong color came up once you click through. These shirts in particular made the list because of the built-in flex. Truth be told, the red plaid shirt is what Lucas will be wearing this Christmas! My boy is always on the go and he needs to be able to move without feeling held back or sizing up and losing the style of the shirt. Bonus: Old navy added 3% spandex to this soft cotton shirt so our boys can keep moving!
Now don’t let the name deceive you, just because these are skinny jeans, that doesn’t mean they are skin tight! This cut is my favorite for boys because I’m not a huge fan of baggy jeans with no shape, and these come in slim, regular and husky sizes! I like the black wash because it’s something other then khaki and olive colored pants, and these can get dirty without it being obvious!
I picked these pants because I think they would look so cute with the red plaid shirt above. These babies are super cozy with a red brushed interior and made from 7% elasterell and 1% lycra for more movement and stretch. The cuffs can be unrolled, though I think I would leave them that way.
I love accessories! Finding items that match or make an outfit really shine can be so much fun! I chose the next few items because I could see my own kids wearing them, or because they will be under the Christmas tree! I hope you like these picks as much as I do!
I chose either new off-white or deep true navy, but they also have true black and heather grey as options.
These babies are selling out fast, so if you love them – get them!
I’ve got my eye on the metallic heart ballet flats for obvious reasons, but if they sell out before I snatch them up then these are next.
I couldn’t forget a cute pair of booties!!
Last but not least, because boys need accessories too!!
So what do you think of my picks, Dreamies? What will your kids be wearing for the holidays?? Find me through any of the links on my page or leave me a comment below! I’d love to hear from you!!
